Carolyn Sue Ferrell, age 83 of Austin, Texas, passed away on May 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur McKay, and her mother Glennis (Baxendale) McKay. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Reverend Charles Ferrell, her brother Don McKay, her son Greg Ferrell and his wife Jackie, her son Deron Ferrell and his wife Debbie, her daughter Joyce Mladenka and her husband Jerry, her daughter Joan Kusak and her husband Don, as well as eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Sue Ferrell, age 83 of Austin, Texas, passed away on May 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur McKay, and her mother Glennis (Baxendale) McKay. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Reverend Charles Ferrell, her brother Don McKay, her son Greg Ferrell and his wife Jackie, her son Deron Ferrell and his wife Debbie, her daughter Joyce Mladenka and her husband Jerry, her daughter Joan Kusak and her husband Don, as well as eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

After raising her children, Carolyn worked for twenty-two years at the Internal Revenue Service. Upon retiring from Civil Service, she worked as a volunteer for sixteen years at St. David's South Austin Medical Center.

Carolyn was a beautiful person who always put others' needs before her own. Her generosity, compassion and forgiving nature exemplified her strong Christian faith. She had a wonderful outlook on life and she kept her sense of humor even in her final moments. She will be greatly missed by the members of Hyde Park Baptist Church, by the good people at St. David's, by her dear friends, and especially by her family.

Funeral services are being conducted by Cook-Walden/Capital Parks. There will be a memorial for Carolyn at Hyde Park Baptist Church Monday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Carolyn's family requests that memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude's.
